Product Description Wingdow™ Gym is a play area for large companion birds that can be used in front of a window or a patio door, or along any wall. It consists of a frame of stainless steel tubing, backed by clear plastic panels that protect woodwork and walls. Its multi-stage design supports most toys and small hanging gyms on the market. The Motivation for Wingdow™ Gym Since we introduced our Wingdow™ Seat two years ago, customers have been asking us to create a product for large birds, such as Macaws and Cockatoos. Many of these customers already have floor perches and gyms for their birds, but they were looking for something more. So, we asked our customers for their wish list. Here's what they told us.
First and foremost-our customers want a piece of bird furniture that is both high in quality and aesthetic. Many of our large bird customers have formal homes, and they want bird furniture that is more appropriate to their formal surroundings---in other words, not the "plumbing parts" look common in many of the bird gyms and other bird furniture products available today. Second, they want to be able to mount that furniture in a conventional window-or, if they so choose, to a patio door or a wall. Third, they want the windows and/or walls surrounding that furniture to be protected from the bird's chewing and soiling. Fourth, the item must be roomy enough to comfortably fit a bird the size of a Macaw and strong and flexible enough to accommodate a myriad of large bird toys. Fifth, the item must be portable and easy to move and to store. Last but not least, they want a high quality, durable product that is built to last the lifetime of their bird

Wingdow™ Gym Construction

gymsub1.jpg (21556 bytes) Wingdow™ Gym has a framework of stainless steel tubing, with clear plastic panels that protect walls and windows from soiling and chewing. The bottom of the Gym has a tough, molded plastic catch tray with a stainless wire grate that protects the bird's feet from droppings and other items that fall into the catch tray. The perch is a T-bar with two twenty-ounce food cups. There is ample clearance for long tails around the perch and in the climbing space above the perch. The top of the Gym has a stainless steel bar with a number of threaded holes for hanging the bird's favorite toys. Toys hang away from the protective plastic panel to minimize the bird's contact with the panel and so that litter will not fall on the main perch. There's also an optional plastic panel that fits on top of the toy bar/support and helps keep the bird from climbing above the Gym where he/she could damage the ceiling or soil his/her toys.

The frame and hardware are all a brushed finish stainless steel-similar in look to modern stainless steel kitchen appliances. The catch tray comes in a standard medium gray. However, black and white trays are also available.

Wingdow™ Gym is about 44" wide fully assembled (36" on the floor), and will stretch vertically to cover windows that range from 42" to 64" high. Its maximum height to the top of the clear panel is just under eight feet. The Gym tray is 36" deep (to the wall surface) when in use and is 36" high off the floor. The catch tray conveniently folds up to allow cleaning underneath the Gym. The Gym weighs about 60 pounds total (including plastic panels) and can be easily folded up and collapsed for transportation or storage. An optional carrying case is available for customers wishing to transport or store their Gym. The Gym rests on four stainless tubular legs with removable casters. Though it appears much larger than ordinary play stands, it takes up about the same foot print (36" X 36"). Wingdow Gym gives the space above its tray to the bird, so he feels much more comfortable and is likely to stay on the Gym for longer periods of time.
